Este paseo recorre los momentos más significativos en la existencia de San Salvador de Jujuy desde su fundación en el año 1593 hasta las guerras civiles ocurridas en el país a mediados del siglo XIX. En primer lugar, visitaremos el lugar donde nació la ciudad, la plaza Belgrano, conociendo su historia y su actual ornamentación. Una segunda parte, nos conducirá al Cabildo y la Catedral, edificaciones que conservan su ubicación colonial original, en donde haremos una referencia de sus aspectos constructivos y la participación en la gestación del pueblo jujeño. Por último visitaremos la interesante colección del Museo Histórico Provincial, ubicado en una antigua casona colonial donde fuera asesinado el General Lavalle en 1841. Como destacado del circuito, todos los inmuebles mencionados fueron declarados Monumento Histórico Nacional por la Comisión Nacional de Museos, Monumentos y Lugares Históricos.

HISTORICAL CIRCUIT
This trip embraces the most significant moments of San Salvador de Jujuy’s existence, from its foundation in the year 1593 trough the civil wars that took place in the country in the middle of XIX century. First, we will visit Belgrano square, the place where the city was born. There, we will discover its history and see its present ornamentation. Second, we will go to the old city hall and the cathedral, buildings that keep their original colonial location, where we will refer to the contribution they made to the gestation of Jujuy people. Finally, we will be able to see the interesting collection of the Provincial Historical Museum, located in an old colonial house where General Lavalle was assassinated in 1841. One of the remarkable characteristics of this circuit is that all the above mentioned buildings were pronounced National Historical Monuments by the National Commission of Museums, Monuments and Historical Places.
